Temporary Entrance Opens March 13
Dear ACPL Community,
Here at ACPL we are pretty thrilled about the emerging signs of spring (aka sunshine, snow, and daylight savings) and all the progress with construction. We’ve been talking about the ACPL Rejuvenation Project for a long time, so every step of the journey brings a mini celebration.
Thursday, March 13 will mark the most obvious sign of construction: a change to the Laramie Branch’s entry arrangement and parking. Starting Thursday, March 13, the main lobby entrance and the front parking lot will be closed. These areas will be closed for the remainder of construction.
New Temporary Entrance
ACPL has reconfigured an emergency exit on the south side of the building as a new temporary entrance. This entrance is directly behind the blue book drop. We’ve added a ramp with a handrail and automatic door openers so that the entrance is accessible to all. Look for arrows and signs to mark the way.
New Parking Arrangements
The two south parking lots will now be dedicated public lots. There is also street parking on the library’s block and in the surrounding neighborhood. The southwest parking lot will have four dedicated ADA parking spaces.
If you are coming to the library for a program, you may want to arrive a bit earlier to ensure you have time to find a parking space.
We also ask our community to be considerate of the different mobility ranges amongst our library users. If walking an extra block or two does not seem daunting for you, please consider parking further away and saving closer spots for the members of our community that may find that more challenging.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we undertake this change together. We think the final transformation of the project will be well worth the effort and any inconvenience.
