Managing Your Library Account:
Go to WYLDCat, the online catalog, click 'SIGN IN' on the right of the page.
You will be asked to enter your library card number; this number can be found on the back of your library card. Your PIN is likely the (new) default: ACPL. If your card was created prior to November 1st, 2022, your default pin is WYLD.
Once you have entered this information you will be taken to your account page. From there you can view your items, renew, check hold availability, and more. If you have issues, please contact the library.
Every cardholder’s privileges expire. This helps the library keep track of any changes in contact information. Privileges can not be updated online. Please call or email the library, with your library card number, and staff will be happy to assist you.

To view the due date of an item you will need to access your library account (See 'How do I log into my account'). From your account select the “Checked Out Titles” tab to view all your items.
To renew selected items, place a checkmark in the box next to each item you want to renew, then click the 'Renew Selected Items' button. You can also click the 'Renew All' button if you wish to renew all items you have checked out.
*Note: There are several reasons why an item would fail to renew online. Items can not be renewed if: they have already been renewed twice, you have reached the fine limit of $25, or the item is on hold for another patron. You may also renew items by calling or emailing the library, with your library card number handy, and a staff member will be happy to assist you. Our number is 307-721-2580, and our email is info@acplwy.org. You may also renew in person with either the item or your library card.
No. The library does not charge overdue fees for any items. If an item is more than 3 weeks overdue, the item will be flagged as "Lost", and you will be billed for the cost of the item, plus a $5 processing fee. If you return the item, this cost will be waived, including the processing fee.
If an item is returned damaged, you will be billed for the cost of the item, plus a $5 processing fee.
You can continue to use your library card as long as the amount owed on your account is less than $25.
Library cards:
Library cards are free to anyone who lives, shops, studies, or works in Albany County for at least two months out of the year.
You can visit the library to sign up for a library card. Please bring a Photo ID and proof of address (such as a piece of mail, a digital bill, a lease, etc.).
You can also apply online and visit the library within two weeks of applying to get a permanent card. Please bring a Photo ID and proof of address when you pick up your library card.
If you have a library card at another Wyoming County Library, you can use that card to check out items at the Albany County Public Library.
Standard Card
Issued to anyone with Photo ID and proof of address. Cardholders can check out unlimited books, and audiobooks, as well as 10 DVDs, 3 video games, 2 board games, 1 kindle, and 1 blood pressure cuff kit at a time.
Limited Card
Issued to those unable to provide proof of address. Limited cardholders can check out 3 items at a time, excluding video games, board games, kindles, and blood pressure cuff kits.
Out-of-State Card
If you are an out-of-state visitor but wish to check out materials from our library, you can get an Out-of-State Card. These cards cost $10 and have the same limits as your Standard Cards.
Minor Card
Issued to people under the age of 18 who cannot get guardian approval for a card. The cardholder is limited to 10 items total, no DVDs or video games, no board games, and no blood pressure cuffs. The cardholder has access to unlimited e-resources.
It is up to the legal guardian to decide at what age a minor gets a library card. There are no restrictions on cards held by minors and the card works the same as an adult card. For minors living in more than one household we recommend that that minor have a card for each household and each legal guardian, or use the card of the legal guardian they are with at the time.
